The next Yes Lab is 11am-12:30pm Friday, April 13, at 20 Cooper Square, 5th floor.
The Hemi Yes Lab involves students, faculty, local activists, and the occasional government official in strategizing and accomplishing funny media-getting actions. Yes Labs occur every Friday at 10am at the Hemispheric Institute, 20 Cooper Square, 5th floor, New York, beginning Feb. 3. Anyone is welcome to show up, so long as you're committed to actively help carry out a particular project. If you'd like to participate, please email us at Esta dirección electrónica esta protegida contra spambots. Several action groups are planned for this spring, including one around a major Occupy Wall Street project. The fall’s Yes Lab projects focused on the problem of income disparity and the rich-poor divide, locally and globally, with focuses on immigration, military spending, and Wall Street.
Participation is easy; just show up. If, on the other hand, you would like to propose an "action group" focus for next semester's Yes Lab, you'll need to (a) commit to put in a lot of work yourself, every Friday; (b) have an activist organization in mind to help guide the group; and (c) pre-establish contact with that organization before the first Friday, and if possible confirmation that they are interested in collaboration. Please write to us about it, and show up on the first Friday (Feb. 3, 2012) ready to present your focus.
